- Explain in detail why the image(s) was beneficial for the post. (3 Marks)
The image of the two lost dogs without an ID tag on is beneficial to the post because it immediately grabs interest and coveys a message without having to say much. Even if I didn’t add text-based content, users would be able to clearly conclude these dogs are scared, alone and lost. This image does a great job at connecting emotionally with my audience since this can be the scary reality for many, making them more likely to read further and consider taking action to keep their dog as safe as they possibly can. Research shows that “the brain processes emotional information 20% faster than rational information”[i], meaning that images especially grab attention fast and connect with users emotionally. This image is highly beneficial for the post since I’m making it clear that prevention is the key, and if my audience were to invest in one of my tags it could make all the difference.
The second image is beneficial for my blog post because it visually reinforces the solution, a Furever Tag. It’s important to ensure that my audience can picture themselves in this scenario, and that the dog tag is the focal point, encouraging them to act and invest into something so small so that they can feel good, taking precautions as a responsible pet owner. This second image supports the first image by providing a sense of security. The idea is to make owners feel as if there is a solution and not just a problem and that’s exactly what this image strives to do. The image is beneficial for the post because it shifts the focus from initially fear, to action and peace of mind. I’m clearly communicating the value of my brand and how pets have a much better chance at returning home thanks to a tag that’s long lasting, a key feature my business showcases through this image.
